Buckingham Palace London

Next we headed up The Mall towards Buckingham Palace. St James park on our left.
Below Admiralty Arch is pictured along with the Queen Victoria memorial, which stands just out side the Palace.
Buckingham Palace is the official London residence of Her Majesty The Queen.
We were lucky enough to witness the parade of carriages as ambassadors from another country were taken into the palace by carriage to meet the Queen.

Whilst at the carriage parade we got chatting to the mounted policeman pictured above. Freddie Windsor is a pure bred shire horse. It is very unusual for a shire to be a police horse as they don't usually use pure bred horses let alone a shire. We learnt a lot about Freddie Windsor, he is 22 yrs old coming up to retirement soon. He even has his own web site. The policeman`s girlfriend as also written books about Freddie`s adventures. Link below. Freddie Windsor is a beautiful horse with such a kind nature.
