Orange Wednesday Film Review : Pacific Rim

An orange Wednesday saw us heading to the Odean Cinema in Wrexham to watch the film Pacific Rim.
This was a good action packed film quite similar to Transformers with also a touch of Avatar. But this time the world was faced with monster's coming through from a porthole in the ocean ( a touch of Dr Who ).
The film was really good with the transformer style robots being control by military personal who had links with the machine's and there partner's brains who controlled the machine a bit like the film Avatar where you are at one with your machine.
The film was action packed and we all enjoyed it. It was well worth going to see.
We would give the film 8 out of 10. The film is a Cert 12 parental guidance.

The Swallows Have Landed

For as many years as I can remember we have been visited by a couple of beautiful little swallow birds.
Each spring they start to fix up their little nest with twigs fur and anything else they can get their little beaks on.
They nest right next to the kitchen door under the carport. During the winter months these little treasures vacate our climate for a warmer choice. They travel thousands of miles each year there and back.
This year like the last few they have layed their eggs and raised their babies. They feed love them then bring them out of the nest 1 by 1 to teach them to fly.
Eventually there is a line of usually 3 - 4 - 5 of them perched under the carport on the washing line. Each taking a turn on learning to fly. Its wonderful to see. Making where we live so very special.
This spring mother and sometimes father swallow whom of which can be a bit short tempered at times with any human heads that may pass by, have raised 3 baby swallows. This was mother swallows first set of chicks.
We are now on the second set of chicks. This week with endured excitement we have had the pleasure to see 4 or maybe 5 little heads popping over the side of the nest. Mother and father swallow are extremely busy at this time back and too feeding and caring for there hungry brood.
It's about now we have to learn to duck as when you go outside to put washing on the line or even doing daily tasks upon the drive you get swooped upon. She squeaks alot as she tells you off for being in her territory near her precious babies. I keep having to remind this little black and white bird with a hint of blue and a forked tail, that this happens to be my house not hers. But weather or not this little treasure has been coming here longer than I have owned this house has to be contemplated. Maybe she has been coming here over 16 years you never no. There has not been a year that has gone by that I can remember this family of birds paying us a visit.

The Last Ford Transit

The last Ford Transit of more than 7 million made in Britain rolled off the production line on Monday the 24th July 2013.
Staff in Southampton whose plant shut Friday 26th July 2013 put the last finishing touches to a white minibus. The closure of the plant with sadness also takes 400 jobs with it.
The Ford Transit range includes vans and flat bed trucks have been made at the Southampton base since 1972.
The US firm have stated that production has now been switched to Turkey because the costs are significantly lower.
A sad day for our country with the loss of jobs and the loss of the popular old transit being English made.

Butterflies

Have you noticed there are so many butterflies and moths are about at the moment. Many different sizes. Some the largest I have ever seen out in the open. There colours are just beautiful. From white to black with lots of gorgeous red marking. These little creatures are fascinating to watch. Why not take yourself off into the garden or your local park by the garden's and just sit and relax for a while. Take in the joys of summer and watch those beautiful butterflies pass right by.

The Book Of Life

I have always said life is like a book. Many of us have  chapters in our lives we either love or hate. Many just can not wait to close a chapter in our lives that is so very painful to remember. Looking at life you should try to see it as an open book if you can. As one chapter in your life closes another will open. Today I went through the story of Daniel`s death with one of my mum`s social worker`s bringing her to tears and myself. That is a chapter of my life that has ended and remembering is so very painful. Today we live life to the full after all life is for living never close an open book always leave it open as you never no what the next chapter will bring it may be happy it may be sad. The sad chapters will never be forgotten they can leave many scars but when you find yourself living a happy chapter of your open book of life embrace it with all your heart and enjoy the good things life can bring.

Summer Stroll & Bug Hunt

Well what beautiful weather we are having so what a day to go on a bug hunt armed with a friend Helen and the dog off we trotted over hill valley and vale we wandered. We came across some wonderful bugs with some wonderful colours. Many were far to fast for the camera on my phone. We found many a bug on our travels. Beautiful butterflies, colourful dragonflies, pretty pink and black bugs. These bugs I had never seen before. We also saw these tiny orange beetles these two were having a spot of happy time. Not for young eyes and ears but it brought a smile to our face not very often you see the bonking bugs. It was really hot but we still had a nice time Mr Reggie was extremely hot, he found a shady bush to lay under for some time. There is nothing like a good walk any time of the year one of my favourite activities.
