Wells Somerset Smallest City In England

We headed for Wells which is the smallest city in England. Here We firstly looked around the town, which was very pretty. The gutters ran with water and there were very pretty buildings within the town. Here is a link to the town web site http://www.wells-uk.com/

We walked around the shops and the market. The market was very big and full of interesting items.

Next stop was the bishop`s palace. The palace was surrounded by a huge moat with draw bridge across. Swans swam in the moat. After taking in the view and meeting a Fred the Dog lookalike,we moved on to the Cathedral.

This surly was a magnificent building. I took many photographs here. We walked around the Cathedral which was huge inside. Inside the cathedral it was truly stunning.

We lite candles for both Daniel and Callum. Billy lite one each for both of our fathers.

Aaron really enjoys visiting historic places and loves to learn about them. He is very keen on history.

Aaron wrote a beautiful pray out for his lost brothers, the pray will be read out at a service in the cathedral this coming Friday. We also picked up verses and bookmarks along the way. Here is one of the verses :- Wells Cathedral

After a long stroll back to the car we headed back to Brean Down. In the car park next to our car was a split screen camper can mint condtion. We had a good look around it before leaving

Wirral Walk Moreton Shore - Leasow Lighthouse Feb 09

We headed down to the Wirral today. Stopping to feed two hungry children and a Nana breakfast on the way at McDonalds.

After visiting Daniel and Callum`s grave we dropped Nana off to see her sister as her sister is poorly.

The boys and I ( Aaron & Callum ) headed to the beach. We parked up at Moreton Shore. Taking Fred from the car we headed up the steps and down the sea defence onto the beach. We walked right along the beach towards Harrison Drive and turned around and walked back again.

The tide was out as I checked before we left the tide timetable to make sure but it was due in at 3.30pm. I showed the boys how this part of the beach could be dangerous. This is due to sandbanks which the tide comes in around and you can be cut off.

As we finished our walk the tide could be seen surrounding a sandbank which was accessible via the part of the beach we were on only 1/2 hr before. A valuable lesson they learnt today.

I grew up by the River Mersey so no how dangerous these waters can be. Moreton Shore is part of the Irish Sea and is also the mouth of the River Mersey. Known as Liverpool Bay.

When we were younger we used to ride our horse on this part of the beach galloping up and down in the surf. It was a fantastic feeling with the wind blowing through your hair and sand on the horses feet. The horses new when we were near the sea they could smell the sea air Bubble my palomino gelding would go mad and took alot of holding back on the beach he loved it. Another of my horses Pepi my black dales loved to swim. Riding him bareback one day he swam out really far and it took me ages to get him to turn back he loved it. Sadly my old ponies have since passed away at ripe old ages. I still miss them today as I grew up with them from the age of 3.

Back to our walk, we carried on up the shore line in the distance we could see the old Leasowe Lighthouse.

The boys and Fred had had a fab time chasing each other around. Aaron did a stop of beach combing on his way and found some weird stuff. Fred took to chasing the sea gulls. The gulls ended up playing games with Fred swooping down on him then flying out above the waters. Fred barmy as he is followed swimming after them silly dog. We ended up putting Fred on the lead in case he got into difficulties.

We headed off the beach onto the path of the lighthouse. The lighthouse is currently under reconstruction which was nice to see.

We walked to the lighthouse then along the path towards the car. We met a group of girls trekking along Moreton Common. It was a lovely walk even if it was a little breezy. There is nothing more healthy for your lungs like the fresh sea air. We jumped in the car for another journey into my past.

Central Park Liscard Blast To The Past Feb 09

After visiting the beach we headed into Wallasey to Central Park. As the boys enjoyed playing football I thought this was a good safe place to take them.

As soon as I pulled up the boys jumped out of the car along with the football seeing the football pitches along with goal posts in the distance. I followed on with Fred the dog.

We all had a kick around for a while. Then decided to have a look around.

Central Park was I place I visited often when I was a child, teenager and in my early twenties. 20 yrs ago.

It was good to re visit. I remember walking my dogs here over many years. The park seemed so much smaller now. The duck pond was still the same with the Central Island where the ducks and swans built there homes. The pond was packed with ducks etc.

We carried on our walk towards another pond area and rose garden. Here we saw a group of playful grey squirrels. In this area there is also alot of open space. We walked along the edge of the old rose garden towards the central park statue. This statue is in memory of the men who died during the war.

There used to be a huge art craft collage situated in the park. I did a few courses here many years ago machine knitting and art and design. I loved to design my own clothes in those days and had quite a good little business going till my life went down hill after spitting with my childhood sweetheart and my dad dying. Thankfully my life is now back on track after meeting my husband to be Billy. I adore Billy he is a fantastic man. He has shown me how a woman should be treated by a man. Billy is the best. He is also a fab dad and role model for Aaron. We both love him to bits.

I was sad to see the collage had gone. A lady told me it had been burnt down over 12 mths ago by arsonists. Very sad it was a lovely old building.

We walked on came across the park. The park had changed it was very different. The boys had a play on the swings. Whilst they were settled I headed off to get a cup of tea.

I walked on to a newly developed part of the park. the walled garden this part of the part used to be rough and over grown. I was pleased to see it had been developed into a lovely place to relax along with a coffee shop and children's play area. This part of the park is run by special need people from a local service user day centre Riverside.

I go a cup of tea and headed back to keep and eye on the boys. Afterwards we headed off for another quick kick about before heading to pick Nana back up and heading home.

IF MY BODY WERE A CAR...


If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull .. But that's not the worst of it.
My headlights are out of focus and it's especially hard to see things up close.
My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.
My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins.
It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed.
My fuel rate burns inefficiently.
But here's the worst of it --

Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter ..


either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires!

Everton V Aston Villa FA Cup 2009

Everton reached the quarter finals of the FA cup yesterday. They beat Villa 3 - 1 in an exciting FA cup tie at Goodison Park.
The boys were out early this morning headed up the valley to pick up the Sunday papers and do a bit of shopping. Aaron coming back with a mound of match attack cards.
After having an early roast dinner we to Llanstantffraid Football Club to watch the match.
Billy being a staunch Evertonian was very excited. Both Aaron and I were breaking our rule today and were cheering Everton on. Aaron dressed in royal blue to Billy`s delight.
There is a great atmosphere at the football club with many supporters being on many different sides. The manager of the football club is also an evertonian he and Billy get on well. We always received a warm welcome coming to this club.
Aaron's friend Callum has been staying with us for a few days whilst his mum and dad work. The boys enjoyed a kick about on the Llanstanffraid Football pitch at 1/2 time, Billy joined in running rings around the boys and scoring goals eventually slipping and twisting his knee. He has played semi professional in the past till he gain an injury which saw the end of his football career.
Gaynor also joined us after finishing work. We had a lovely afternoon out yet again.
Everton are now through to the quarter finals.

Aaron First Valentine`s Card 14/2/09

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Aaron despite being only 10 yrs old has a girlfriend. Aaron`s girlfriend Amy is a lovely little girl. She made the effort today to post him his first valentines card. It was hand made with I love Aaron written all over. It brought me to tears. They have been going out now since November 2008. Both Amy`s mum Jo and myself wonder were this will lead. They are so sweet.

SPECIAL AARON

Aaron is developing into a wonderful young man. He is very talented in many areas in his life. He is top of the school with his work. He is an excellent reader and thinks nothing of reading openly in public. At Daniel`s funeral he stood in front of a packed church reading his words for his lost brother. He made me so proud that day.

His school reports are the best he is excellent at English, maths and all other subjects. He is out standing at computer skills and can finish any task put to him in such quick and accurate time. He is a keen football with strong leader ship skills. He is eager to learn and very enthusiastic. His writing and art skills are also outstanding for his age. He is a remarkable child in all area`s.

He is also talented in music, singing and acting. I have been pulled aside on many occasions by people that are so impressed with his talents.

Aaron is also now a keen scout already achieving his photography badge and mechanic badge in just a few short weeks.

Considering this little 10 yr old boy has been through so many tough time during his short 10yrs of life his ability to achieve is second to none. He is a star in his own right always encourage to pick up a new skill. Aaron is a multi talented child and puts his hand to any challenge he faces. Aaron also enjoys working on projects his latest project is about cars.

We are so proud of our Aaron he will go far in life with his knowledge, life experiences and skills. Along with all the help, love and encouragement that all of his family and friends can give him. We are all so proud of our very special multi talented little lad AARON. There is no other child on this planet that has gone through so much in his short life and come out the other side with such flying colours. Aaron surely is a child in a Billion nothing will ever stand in his way.

Questions asked -- This week I was asked a few questions about children. One was how do you get a child to talk about bad things that happen to them. The simple answer is you don't they talk to you. If a child has full trust and confidence with an adult IE mother / father / teacher they can and will talk about anything that worries them. I have a very close relationship with Aaron after all we have both been through together. Aaron will tell me anything that worries him on is own accord. I will then do my very best to ease his worry and guide him onto the right path to overcome his worry. You can also learn a lot from what children write or draw. I have done a bit of training on play therapy how we can learn from pictures and things children write and draw. I trained in this area whilst doing my NVQ 3. In early years child care and special needs. Having an NVQ helps in many ways learning about children and how they tick. I took on the running of Kids Club last September and really enjoy working back with children. I am qualified to run toddler playgroups and groups for older children.

Mostly before I worked with special needs and with children whom have behavioural problem. I enjoy working with children especially helping children with special needs and problem. Hence moving into the counselling area to develop more skills to help those children in need. Everyone says Aaron takes after his mum for being multi talented in many areas.

A CHILD SHOULD ALWAYS BE TOLD THE TRUTH losing trust in an adult they will bottle there feeling inside and store them away. If they no the truth and have trust in their parents care giver they will talk about any problem or worry they have openly. Sadly these days many parents are very selfish and only thing of themselves.

Question 2 - How can I get a child to co operate. Well you cant unless they want to and children should never be forced. When a child is being difficult never use force. Talk to the child in a clam quite way listen to what they have to say. Children should be allowed to reach their own decisions as long as it doesn't put them in any danger or harm. All children have minds thoughts and feelings sometimes these are over looked by parents and care givers then the children will rebel. Aaron is very good at making his own decisions and knows his own mind ad what he wants hence this is just one of the reasons he is such a strong confidant boy in his own right.

Valentines Day 14th February 2009

What a day well our valentines day started the night before. Billy came home with a special surprise of Indian take away and a lovely bottle of red wine. We then all settled down to watch the DVD he had also brought home.

I received a fantastic valentine card off Billy and Aaron sent one also he had made in school. His card came straight form his heart. What a fab man and dad for Aaron I have.

Next morning was an early start sky plus and multi room was being fitted around the house. Aaron was in his element watching recording and pausing live TV. After the engineer had finished we headed for town dropping Fred off at the hair dressers on the way.

We looked around town for a while whilst we waited for Fred to have his shampoo, clip and set. We had lunch and wandered around the shops for a while. We had a good time shopping.

After picking up Fred with his new hair cut we headed for a cuppa and a visit to see my god children Conner and Abbie. These pair are a real handful for their parents Helen and Jez. I take them out from time to time but its nice to be able to give them back at the end. Trouble with a capital TTT.

After leaving we headed home to get ready for our night out. Billy had arranged for us to have an evening out to watch punk scar bands at the Workhouse Llanfyllin. The workhouse is slowly being done up by a local group of people.
