This circular walk around Chirk is one of my favourites. Parking up at the Poachers Pocket Pub we headed off along the Canal towards the aqueduct and viaduct. The views here are spectacular walking across the aqueduct we then headed towards the 1/2 mile tunnel. This part can be quite tricky and a torch is required. Not for the faint hearted as you head trough the tunnel via torch light. Sometimes the boats coming along the canal light some of the way, if your lucky. Passing through the tunnel heading back towards the light the walk offers you many options. You can walk on towards Trevor or turn back up the back. Again the walk offers many routes back. Today we chose to go through Chirk itself.
This walk itself is approx 3 miles towards the end it leads you back onto the canal to the start point.
Reaching the end of our walk, we had a lovely lunch and a well earned pint at the Poachers Pocket Pub web link - http://www.poacherspocketpub.co.uk/
