We headed for Wells which is the smallest city in England. Here We firstly looked around the town, which was very pretty. The gutters ran with water and there were very pretty buildings within the town. Here is a link to the town web site http://www.wells-uk.com/
We walked around the shops and the market. The market was very big and full of interesting items.
Next stop was the bishop`s palace. The palace was surrounded by a huge moat with draw bridge across. Swans swam in the moat. After taking in the view and meeting a Fred the Dog lookalike,we moved on to the Cathedral.
Aaron really enjoys visiting historic places and loves to learn about them. He is very keen on history.
Aaron wrote a beautiful pray out for his lost brothers, the pray will be read out at a service in the cathedral this coming Friday. We also picked up verses and bookmarks along the way. Here is one of the verses :- Wells Cathedral
Lighting A Candle In Wells Cathedral
I light this candle,
O Lord my God
as a sign of faith.
You know my heart:
its longings and burdens,
its anxieties and hopes:
in quiet trust
I offer it all to you.
And Pray that all my concerns
your kingdom may come and your will be done.
So give me assurance of your love
whatever happens:
and as I go on my way
the gift of quiet mind
Amen
