We were lucky enough to get hold of a couple of tickets to see Before the Dawn the strange but excellent stage show by Kate Bush.
Off we trotted to London early one morning, first parking up at Elstree. We walked the short distance to the railway station, buying our day return tickets and then boarding the train to Kings Cross. We then jumped on the underground to Hammersmith.
Getting off the tube and heading out of the station the smell just hit you. Its strange living in the countryside because when you do arrive in some parts of London the smell is stomach turning. I was not the only one to notice this, later as we stood in the queue for the Appollo theatre another lady form Scotland said exactly the same. Its a nasty dirty smell that reminds you of what the olden days must have been like in London with them not having a good sanitary system.
I am sorry if this offends some of you lovely London people but this is what a few country people smell when they visit the big city. It is such a shame because I do love to visit and look around the big smoke if only for a few days. I am afraid I have a fear of the enclosed spaces and desperately need to visit the park after a few days. The last couple of times being away from my home with plenty of space being in a confined room I have been on the verge of a claustrophobia attack.
Anyhow after finding a lovely pizza shop we settled down for some tea and wasn't it lush.
