Maesbury Marsh Canal Walk

Maesbury Marsh has a lovely gentle figure of 8 walk. The walk is mostly flat it involves lanes and canal tow path.
From the car park at the tea shop you leave walking right up the lane. The lane crosses a ford in the road with a little bridge at the side to walk over when the water is high. Previously I have been able to cross the ford in wellington boots, today however the river resembled a raging torrent.
The water span as it washed over the weir under the bridge.
Reaching the canal ahead is a bridge, just before the bridge , there is a turning to your right which takes you along the tow path next to the canal.
Here you can see the peace, tranquility and the beauty of the landscape before you. Trees and the bridges shadow in the water leaving you with a sense of surreal. It`s an ideal place to get out your sketch pad as the reflection spin off the water.
After passing under  the second bridge with the Navigation pub above you, there is a path to the side take the small pathway.
Cross over the bridge passing the Navigation pub ( or pop in for a quick 1/2 if desired . Walk up the road taking the road with the little brown sign pointing to the Tea Room. Follow the lane down, upon reaching the humped back bridge the Tea shop is on your right.
This is a lovely walk which can take around 1 hour at a slow stroll. Don't forget to pop into the Tea Shop and buy yourself a coffee  to support this lovely spot by the canal.
