Walking Past The Lime Kilns .... The Alpaca`s

A beautiful day time for a walk with the doggie. Setting off in Larry the landrover we headed a few short miles to Llanymynech rocks. Walking up towards the rocks we notice a few nutters rock climbing. The silly and scariest thing was they were not harnessed. Moving on quickly in case one fell ( was not in the mood to see splattered brains on the ground below ) we headed along the paths and under the main road via a tunnel.
The walk takes you past the huge Lime Kilns before heading across the meadow and along the canal tow path. Then you head up and walk along the lines crossing back over the main road to the car park to find your car.
The walk is around 3 - 4 miles in all. It is a pretty walk and very educational for kids. Along the route you can see over the hedge a field full of Alpaca`s. These are so cute. The walk also offers views over the Shropshire planes looking over towards Rodney`s Pillar. On the whole this is a lovely day out. Gentle walk with a couple of steep inclines but manageable.
